Head Start Information Update

The Head Start Program will be offered online.  Information about logging into the online Head Start Program will be sent to parents/guardians by August 21 for registered students.  Please email cont.ed@dcdsb.ca for general questions or for student login information.

There will be one in-school opportunity for all students participating in the Head Start program on Wednesday, August 26th which will include cohorts of students for school tours and conversations about getting ready for high school.  Parents/Guardians will be notified about a specific drop-off and pick up time.  It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to arrange travel to and from the school on this date. Health and safety protocols will be emailed to all parents/guardians prior to the start of the program.

Head Start Program

The Head Start - Transitioning to High School program is available to all Grade 8 students going into Grade 9 at one of our Durham Catholic District School Board high schools. The program involves a review of language and mathematics skills and provides students with a preview of the Grade 9 curriculum for Mathematics, English and Study Skills. Health and well-being is also integrated into the program.

Dates

Our Head Start program runs online from Monday August 24 to Thursday, August 27, 2020 (8:30 am - 1:30 pm).

  • Father Leo J. Austin Catholic Secondary School
  • Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School
  • All Saints Catholic Secondary School
  • Archbishop Denis O'Connor Catholic High School
  • Monsignor John Pereyma Catholic Secondary School
