Adult Dual Credit

The Adult Dual Credit Program assists learners who are 21 years of age or older in the completion of their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and leads to successful transition to a college or apprenticeship program.  Students accepted to the program attend Durham College for one semester.  During that time, they will complete their high school graduation requirements and take a college course taught by a Durham College faculty member.  If successful, two credits are recorded: one on the high school transcript and the second on the college transcript.

Who is eligible for the Adult Dual Credit Program?

If you are 21 years of age or older and:

  • Interested in a College or Apprenticeship Program
  • Within 2-4 credits of graduation
  • Enrolled in Durham Catholic DSB adult education programs
  • Academically capable of completing college level work

How does the Dual Credit Program benefit students?

  • Students earn a college credit while working toward their OSSD
  • Increase awareness of the various college and apprenticeship programs
  • Experience a positive transition to college life

Program supports include:

  • Costs for transportation and materials
  • Access to Durham College's Student Academic Learning Centre
  • Assistance with College Application
  • Career Counselling

Program Details

  • Located at Durham College
  • Monday - Friday (11:00 am - 4:30 pm)
  • Semester 3: Jan. 30 - Apr. 12

  • Navigating the Workplace (GLN4O)
  • Personal Wellness - Dual Credit Course
  • Flexible learning options to earn additional credits toward the OSSD
