2023 LINC & ESL Classes

 

 English Language Classes

Adult LINC & ESL non-credit classes are free for eligible adult immigrants (REFUGEE CLAIMANT or CONVENTION REFUGEE or PERMANENT RESIDENT or LIVE-IN CAREGIVER or NATURALIZED CANADIAN CITIZEN) and you must have a valid language assessment.
  • Fee for services classes are NOT available for Visitors & Study Permits that do not fall under the federal or provincial requirements for LINC or ESL classes

Day classes are offered Monday to Friday (September 11, 2023- June 21, 2024):

Registration for our daytime classes is now open using our ONLINE Registration Request Form.
Please DO NOT come to our school locations as we will not be doing in-person registration.
Review the information below and complete the ONLINE Regisration Form once you have decided on the course you wish to take.


All daytime classes are Monday to Friday.  Students must be able to attend 5 days/week.
Ajax Welcome Centre Immigrant Services - 458 Fairall Street, Ajax ON
The school is located inside the Ajax Welcome Centre UNIT 5 at the north-east corner of Fairall Street and Westney Road.
Enter through the Fairall Street doors at South Reception or drive through the parking lot to the back of the building and enter through the North Reception doors.

Ajax Continuing Education Centre - 458 Fairall Street, Ajax ON
The school is located inside the Archbishop Anthony Meagher Continuing Education Center UNIT 7 at the north-east corner of Fairall Street and Westney Road.
Enter the parking lot and the school is on the west side of the building next to AYA Kitchens.

Whitby Language Center - 1003 Giffard Street, Whitby ON 

The school is located near the corner of Dundas Street (Hwy 2) and Cochrane Street in Whitby, on Giffard Street between St John the Evangelist Church an St John the Evangelist Elementary School. Enter the church parking lot and you will see the school on the right side.

Online/Hybrid Classes - students must have technology (tablet, computer or laptop to participate)

This is an online class where students work from home. 
Student must live in Durham Region as there will be days when students are required to come into the school for training and to meet with the teacher for assessment appointments. Only students who live in Durham are eligible to join.

Night classes are ONLINE only! (classes start October 3, 2023)

 Registration will open on Monday August 28, 2023.

Night classes will ONLY be offered ONLINE. You must have a COMPUTER or LAPTOP to participate.

Night Classes will begin on October 3, 2023. 
Class Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday from 6:00pm-8:45pm. Students must participate both nights

Night classes will be offered at the following levels:

Citizenship Preparation (CLB 4 & higher only)
This class may begin in November 2023 and cannot be guaranteed.  Proposed class times are Monday & Wednesday from 6:00pm-8:45pm.  This is a preparation class and students will be given the information needed to prepare for the Canadian Citizenship Test.  There will be no assessments given and NO CERTIFICATE will be issued at the completion of this 5 week course.

  • Attendance Policy - students must participate each day.  Poor attendance will result in removal from the class
