Personal Support Worker (PSW)

For the Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate program, orientation is mandatory less than one year prior to course start date. You MUST attend one of the following orientation sessions and write the literacy exam. No appointment is necessary. Please bring Photo ID (Health Card or Driver Licence), Birth Certificate and/or Permanent Resident or Citizenship Card.

Acceptance subject to personal interview.

Tuition: FREE for Domestic Students
Materials Fee:

              
$1100 (Domestic Students)

Covers textbook, workbooks, workshops, First Aid/CPR, name badge and Ontario Long Term Care Association pin, certificates in food handling, feeding, Alzheimer's and GPA.  Materials fee is due 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course.

Deposit: $50 Cash (Minimum), Visa, Master Card, Certified Cheque, Money Order, or Interac at time of registration (non-refundable). Applied as part of the material fee which must be paid in full two weeks before Semester start date.
Admission Requirements:
  • 19 years of age or older;
  • written medical clearance from your doctor;
  • Two Step TB Test;
  • Flu Vaccination;
  • clear Criminal Record/Vulnerability Check;
  • a minimum score of 80 per cent on the Literacy Test;
  • successful personal interview;
  • proof of Canadian citizenship/permanent residency.
