Free Child Care Assistant Training Program available at Archbishop Anthony Meagher Catholic Continuing Education Centre

The Child Care Assistant Training Program includes 9 weeks of classroom learning and 9 weeks of on-the-job training at a licensed childcare facility. The program is valuable preparation for entry into the field as an early childhood assistant or for post-secondary study as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Child Development Practitioner (CDP). Previous participants have moved on to either work in the field or continue their studies in college or through an apprenticeship. 

There is no cost for tuition, and materials and certifications are FREE for our winter session. The course includes Standard First Aid and CPR, WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training, safe food handling, infection control and more. The winter session will begin on January 25, 2023. 

Adults who are 18 years of age or older are invited to attend an information session about the program on Tuesday, December 6 at 3:30 pm. Participants can join the information session virtually or in person at Archbishop Anthony Meagher CCEC Ajax Campus (458 Fairall St., Unit 7).
