October 24 is Dress Purple Day

Posted On Friday October 18, 2019

In recognition of Dress Purple Day on October 24, 2019, students across Durham Region are participating in various activities to raise awareness about Child Abuse Prevention Month in partnership with Durham Children’s Aid Society, the Durham Catholic District School Board, Durham District School Board and community childcare centres.

As key partners in caring for kids, schools and Children’s Aid Societies work closely together on this day to help children understand their rights to safety and well-being, and how to ask the community for help if they need support. On Dress Purple Day, schools, teachers, and children are encouraged to wear purple and participate in group activities that highlight a community that works together to care for kids and families.
